The first news of the month comes from PAIGNTON Championship show where David Craig did the double with Ch Davricard Jacob and Ch Bayard Glory Be. This was Jacob’s 27th CC and Glory Be’s 12th. It was a first CC appointment in the breed for judge Mrs D Stewart Ritchie. Jacob was Best of Breed and he followed this up with Hound G2 judged by Mrs Jill Peak.

Best Veteran In Breed went to Samantha McBain amd Matthew Stevens’ Redcap Bella Sorella JW ShCM VW.

At Upperward of Lanarkshire CS open show on August 14th Gempeni Flower Girl JW ShCM achieved the final points for her Veteran Warrant so can now add VW to the end of her name.

Rosie is 10 years old and is owned and bred by Hazel Deans. She is sparingly shown with her points being gained from 9 shows, three at the beginning of 2020 before Lockdown, one show in 2021 and five shows in 2022.

Eight days after his trip to Paignton David Craig made the long trip south again, this time to BOURNEMOUTH Championship show where Ch Davricard Jacob won his 28th CC . RCCs were won by Christine Lewis’s Fallowfield Vincent and the Havard’s Ch Annavah Princess Tiana. Best Veteran In Breed once again went to Samantha McBain amd Matthew Stevens’ Redcap Bella Sorella JW ShCM VW. The judge was Mrs S. Ergis.

At the WELSH KENNEL CLUB Championship Show on 21st August judge Mrs V. Phillips awarded BOB to the DCC winner Parker & Stevens’ Ch Serenaker Armani.

At Dumfries & Galloway CS Open Show on 21st August judge Johnny Morgan awarded BEST SPECIAL PUPPY IN SHOW to Sophia Stuart’s 9 month old Kellitcreed Frozen Assets who was handled to the top spot by Sophia’s 6 year old daughter Elena.

Congratulations to a very happy Stuart family!

Also at Dumfries & Galloway CS Open Show Clare and John Snedden’s Fallowfield Evolution at Hardexspen ShCM gained the final points required to add ShCEx to the end of his name (subject to KC confirmation).

THE NORTHERN & MIDLAND COUNTIES BEAGLE CLUB held their 57th Championship show in their Diamond Anniversary year at Staveley, Chesterfield on 28th August. The judge was Mr Mike Denny (Janimist)

The following day was DRIFFIELD Championship show held at Wetherby Racecourse. Judging beagles was Mark Cocozza. Winning his 29th CC was Ch Davricard Jacob who went on to win Best of Breed. RDCC went to Lorna Binks’ junior Tannahill Vagabond and RBCC went to the Havard’s Ch Annavah Princess Tiana. BPIB was Kingswin Bug ‘A’ Lugs.

While some people were showing their dogs in West Yorkshire, others were competing in agility at the Scottish Kennel Club Agility show held in Kelso in the Scottish borders.

Pictured is Luisa Fallon’s ‘Boss’ who was awarded a ‘Judge’s Special’ rosette for his excellent ‘aroooooos’ on every contact. Well done Boss!
