The HOUND ASSOCIATION held their CHAMPIONSHIP on Saturday 19th July at Staffordshire County Showground. There was a very good entry of 99/126 beagles for breed specialist Kristen Theobald (Breskar). Judging took place indoors due to the poor weather forecast.
SBC members in the top awards were Lynda & Pam Havard whose recently crowned Annavah Justify took the RDCC and Ch Annavah Princess Tiana took the RBCC. Serena Parker & Graham Stevens’ Ch Serenaker Elle’s Belles was BVIB and Luisa Fallon’s Molesend Jackpot was BSBIB.
WEST MERCIA BEAGLE CLUB held their Championship show in conjunction with the Houndshow. The judge was breed specialist Lorna Binks (Tannahill) from Scotland and the entry was 88/100.
Annavah Justify went one better being awarded his 4th DCC and later BEST IN SHOW over Samantha Goldberg’s Molesend Jazzy who had won her 2nd BCC and was BEST OPPOSITE SEX. Christine Lewis’ Fallowfield Charming Boy was BEST PUPPY IN SHOW.

LEEDS CHAMPIONSHIP show was held at Harewood House. Hounds were judged on Thursday 24th July, the first day of the four day show. Beagles had an entry of 59/65 for hound specialist judge Mr Phil Freer (Switherland).
SBC members took most of the top awards. Serena Parker & Graham Stevens’ Ch Serenaker Armani was the DCC & BOB winner, Lynda & Pam Havard’s Ch Annavah Princess Tiana added another BCC to her collection, Susan Arden’s Annavah Star Above Madika AW(S) was the RBCC winner and the same owner’s Madika Shine On (daughter of Star Above) was BPIB. There were no veteran dogs or bitches entered. There was no placing for Armani in the Hound Group but 6 month old Thelma (pictured right) flew the flag for the beagles by winning HPG3 judged by Kevan Berry.
Interesting to see that Ch Davricard Harrison is the sire of the BOB, and grandsire of BCC, RBCC and BP and is also grandsire of the RDCC.

BOURNEMOUTH CA GENERAL CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW was held at New Park, Brockenhurst, Hampshire from 9th-10th August, hounds being judged on the final day. Breed specialist Neil Stevens was the judge for beagles and had drawn a respectable entry of 63/75. It was a long drive for most exhibitors but the few SBC members who made the journey had a successful day. In the top awards were Serena Parker & Graham Stevens’ Ch Serenaker Armani who picked up another RDCC and Susan Arden’s Madika Shine On (Thelma) who was BPIB which was fitting as the judge had given her dam the BCC the previous time he had judged when he was awarding CCs for the first time. To end the day Thelma followed this up with HPG1 judged by Sharon Rossiter (Sonstraal) from Scotland. Susan will have been on cloud nine as she made the long drive back to Yorkshire.
