June 2022

Just two weeks after Ch Serenaker Armani won HG1 at SKC another beagle has topped the Hound Group! This time it was David Craig’s Ch Davricard Jacob who won his 23rd CC at SOUTHERN COUNTIES Championship show which took place over the same four days as the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, 2nd - 5th June. The breed judge was Ann Tofts and the group judge Mr M Cocozza. The Havards also had a good day with Annavah Lady Gaga winning the RBCC.

Topping the bitches was Lynda and Pam Havard’s Annavah Princess Tiana with Christine Lewis’ Fallowfield Fern in reserve. BPIB was Sam Goldberg’s Molesend Freesia.

SCOTTISH SHOW WEEKEND SATURDAY 18th AND SUNDAY 19th JUNE

A total of three shows were held over the weekend. The SCOTTISH BEAGLE CLUB Championship and Open shows were both held at Carluke on Saturday and BORDER UNION Champ show on Sunday in Kelso.

On Saturday Anne Macdonald judged the Champ show and is pictured below left with her winners BCC and BIS Craig’s Ch Bayard Glory Be, DCC & RBIS Craig’s Ch Davricard Jacob, BPIS Goldberg’s Molesend Dormouse and BVIS Ch Shercroft Apollo JW ShCM. Serena Parker & Graham Stevens did the RCC double with Ch Serenaker Armani and Ch Serenaker Maid In America

Interesting that all the Champ show main winners were t/w and from south of the border whereas all the main awards at the Open show stayed in Scotland and were all tricolour!
