DEVON, CORNWALL & SOUTH WEST BEAGLE SOCIETY held their Championship show at Mark, Highbridge in Somerset on 1st May. There was an excellent entry of 117/137 for judge Brian Foster.

SBC members were in the top awards. It was a repeat of 6 days earlier for Serenaker beagles with Ch S. Armani winning RDCC and Ch S. Maid In America the BCC. The latter, pictured 2nd from left, went on to win RBIS. Sam Goldberg’s 8 month old t/w Molesend Dormouse took the BPIS award with the Havard’s Dufosee Isaac by Annavah taking RBPIS. Hazel Deans was the only exhibitor from Scotland and her Gempeni Flower Girl JW ShCM, pictured far right, was awarded Best Veteran Bitch and RBVIS. Also pictured are Davricard Milton at Dialynne (DCC & BIS) and Ch Janfrey Randall upon Rundle JW ShCM (BVD & BVIS).

Also on 1st May, Luisa Fallon and Gregor Watson’s ‘Boss’ was busy at Woodside DAC show where he had another successful day with three clear rounds and came 2nd in Combined G1-3 Jumping. Boss is pictured looking very proud of his rosette.

Birmingham National was the second championship show of May, held on the 6th of the month. Once again SBC members won top awards. The judge was Dianna Spavin who gave the DCC and BOB to Parker & Stevens’ Ch Serenaker Armani. The BCC was a first for the Havard’s Annavah Princess Tiana. RDCC winner was Fallowfield Vincent owned by Christine Lewis and Sam Goldberg’s Molesend Dormouse was BPIB.

Well done Luisa Fallon and Boss (Newlin Rambler) who pulled out all the stops at Phase Purple KC Agility show on 9th May and won Grade 3 Agility.

Newsflash!

At Fair City DTC agility show at Scone Palace on 15th May Boss got his final Grade 3 Agility win which means he is now in Grade 4. Congratulations!

It was a good day for the beagles at Sunderland Premier Open Show on 15th May. Beagles were judged by Samantha Webster who gave BOB to Claire Jones’ Ch Newlin Preston to Clairdale JW and BPIB to Samantha Goldberg’s Molesend Dormouse. Preston went on to win HG1 and Dormouse won HPG1 under judge Viv Coulter. Preston and Dormouse are pictured left with judge Samantha Webster.

AGILITY NEWS

On Sat 21st May Susan Arden’s 7 year old ‘Dottie’ had a very successful day at her first agility show in 6 months with three clear rounds and winning 1st in G7 agility, 2nd in combined G6+7 agility and 3rd in jumping.

Having won G2 in the Hound Special Beginners Group on Friday at SKC, Luisa Fallon’s ‘Boss’ returned to SKC two days later to compete in the agility. He came 1st in agility and 2nd in jumping, gaining enough points for his first agility title. He will now be Newlin Rambler AW(B) (subject to KC confimation)

BATH was the last Championship show of the month held on 30th May.

Beagles were judged by Mrs Nikki Skinner. David Craig’s Ch Davricard Jacob (pictured) won his 22nd CC before going on to win the Champion Stakes on the day, judged by Mrs I Glen.

Other SBC members’ successes were the partnership of Parker & Stevens whose Ch Serenaker Maid In America was the RBCC winner and Samantha Goldberg whose Molesend Dormouse added another BPIB to her collection.
