Richard Ravell

Welcome to Richard Ravell’s web pages. I was brought up on a farm for 21 years so dogs and other animals have always been a big part of my life. I have always lived around Carlisle, which is great for dog showing as I can enter Open and Champ shows on both sides of the border without too much travelling. I first started with beagles in 1996. Just after I got married my wife wanted a Samoyed and I had always wanted a beagle. So along came Casper the Samoyed followed 4 weeks later by Eric.  I lost him to cancer when he was 8 years old. After a while I thought I would like a beagle to show. Around this time Brian Bowes had mated his bitch with Sarah Bothwell’s (now Eleanor Bothwell’s) Tannahill Leuka and from that litter came Longdalefarm Archie (Dylan) - and what a first show dog! After a year of campaigning I fancied another beagle as by this time I had lost Casper, my lovely Samoyed, after 12 years. So after contacting Serena Parker, who had a litter at this time, I went down to Chester and returned with Dexter. Click on my beagles names above to read and see more of them.
